Take Part in Something Great
From the Desk of Jennifer Konen
Dear Neighbor,
Twenty-two years ago, my husband and I chose Sugar Grove to start our family in a safe, close-knit community. Over the years, I’ve been active in our church, PTO, Girl Scouts, and Little League, and my children have grown up enjoying the forest preserve, the library, and our parks. Like you, I love what makes Sugar Grove special and want to protect it.
I ran for Village Trustee in 2019 and became Village President in 2021 because I saw a need for responsible growth and better leadership. Since then, we’ve lowered water bills, held property taxes flat for two years, and built $20 million in reserves—all while funding a new, modern police station without raising taxes or borrowing. We’re also attracting businesses that enhance our community, not burden it. Crown Community Development has contracted with a national data center developer, ensuring a smart alternative to warehouses. They’ve also committed to public amenities like a splash pad, pickleball courts, nature trails, and an acoustic band shell by 2027.
I would be honored to represent you for another four years and continue moving Sugar Grove forward. I ask for your vote on April 1, 2025; early voting begins on February 20, 2025. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me personally at citizensforjenniferkonen@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Konen

I envision a community of respectful and caring residents, business owners and Village staff working together to develop and implement creative community-based strategies and economic opportunities, build strong neighborhoods, and make Sugar Grove a great place to live, learn, work, and play.
